It's the little things...

So recently one of my close friends had her sixteenth birthday, so in celebration we had a sleepover and went out for a lovely meal. We did each others nails and make-up and we also had lots of little treats such as profiteroles (ymmm) and cupcakes (extra ymmm). I had an amazing time and I'm sure every body else did as well. Here are some photos of the sleepover and the meal....

 The Girl's:

As I've said before I had a lovely night and I really enjoyed my self it made me realise that all these girls mean the world to me  and that I'm very lucky and proud to have them as my friend. I know this is quite a small get together but it was so much fun and it was way better than any other type of 'party', as I said in the title it's the little things that are the best.

Hope you all had a lovely day,

Yummy Lemon Drizzle Cake!!

This is my favorite cake to make, its easy and quick and everybody loves it! Trust me everyone will love it!!

What you need:

Lemon Syrup Cake:

125g unsalted butter

175g caster sugar

2 large eggs

zest of 1 lemon

175g self raising flour

pinch of salt

4 tablespoons milk

 loaf tin

For the syrup:
juice of 1 1/2 lemons

100g icing sugar

For the glaze:

juice of 1/2 a lemon

150g icing sugar

To Make The lemon Cake:

Preheat your oven to 180 C/ gas mark 4.
Butter and line your loaf tin well.

Cream together butter and sugar and add eggs and lemon zest, beating them in well.
Gently fold in the flour and the salt, mixing thoroughly and then add the milk.
Spoon the batter into your prepared tin and bake for 45 mins or until cake tester comes out clean.

For the lemon syrup:

Put the lemon juice and icing sugar into a saucepan and heat gently until the icing sugar dissolves.
As soon as cake is out of oven, puncture small holes all over and pour over the syrup.
Leave the lemon cake to cool completely before removing from the tin.

For the lemon icing:

Combine lemon juice and icing sugar until smooth and white, add a little more icing sugar if needed.  Make sure your cake is completely cool before drizzling with the icing.
